Rev. Alex Moorer
Founding Principal
Rev. Alex Moorer served as Senior Advisor and Texas Faith Director for Fmr. Congressman Colin Allred’s 2026 United States Senate Campaign where he advised the candidate directly; designed elements of political, communications, and organizing strategy across the campaign; and managed religious engagement across the state. Alex has served as Director of Faith Engagement for citywide, countywide, state legislature, congressional, and statewide campaigns in Texas.

Alex previously served as Special Advisor to Houston City Controller Chris Hollins, where he authored core components of the administration’s agenda, led the integration of economic justice policies across all divisions of the Office, and helped design and train the newly established community engagement division. Additional prior government experience includes service as Director of Special Projects at the Elections Administration of the Harris County Clerk’s Office for the historic 2020 federal, state, and local election cycle during a global pandemic.

During his time in local government, Alex has worked with government officials and elected, business, civic, and religious leaders on myriad policy issues and engagement initiatives that reflect a deep commitment to freedom, justice, and equality. Alex has significant experience in election management, political strategy, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, coalition building, and organizational leadership development.
Alex served as a Chapel Assistant at the Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College, and he served as a Ministry Intern at Ebenezer Baptist Church, “America’s Freedom Church,” under the pastoral leadership of U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael G. Warnock, PhD.

Alex is a proud Morehouse College alumnus and an ordained Christian minister. He currently serves as Associate Minister for Justice and Witness at Bethel Church UCC and as a clergy team member at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. Alex is also the founding executive director of the Houston Faith Leaders Coalition and the Texas Faith Leaders Coalition - each a remarkably esteemed alliance of African-American pastors in Texas.
A seventh generation Texan, he is native to Houston, where he currently resides. Alex is the Founding Principal Consultant at Sankofa Strategies.
